In the middle of Lolland’s green forests lies Christianssæde Castle – a historic place with roots dating back to 1690.
Here, where the poet Kaj Munk found his Blue Anemone, cultural heritage and contemporary art meet in beautiful balance.
For the first time, Verdensballetten visits Christianssæde Castle – where peace, beauty and history go hand in hand.

PERFORMANCE WITH BALLET AND OPERA

This summer, Verdensballetten presents prima ballerinas and solo dancers from some of the world’s finest ballet companies, usually only seen on major international stages. The dancers are accompanied on stage by internationally recognized opera singers and classical musicians.

The program is an exquisite potpourri of excerpts from classic ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and Manon, but also newly choreographed pieces created especially for Verdensballetten.

The artistic framework is set by tenor and emcee Jens-Christian Wandt, who with entertaining anecdotes about the show’s repertoire ties it all together into a complete evening of the highest caliber.

In the interplay between wind and weather and art, and with nature as a backdrop, we create a completely new ballet experience characterized by the special soul and character of this place.

Bring your own picnic blanket, or take a seat at the tables and benches set up in Christianssædeparken and enjoy a basket filled with local delicacies.

Drinks – including beer, wine, bubbles and water – are also available for purchase on the day.

Ballet menu in the castle halls

Extend your Verdensballetten experience and enjoy an exclusive ballet menu with wine and champagne in Christiansborgsalen – surrounded by art by Olafur Eliasson.

The menu is prepared with seasonal ingredients and can include both meat and fish.
The three courses are served with a wine and champagne menu included in the price.

We welcome you with a glass of champagne in the Garden Room and on the Terrace from 16.30-17.00.

Dinner begins at 17.00.

During dinner, there will be a short talk about this year’s performance.

WORTH KNOWING BEFORE THE SHOW

Christianssæde Castle opens the doors to the park at 16:30 and to the seating areas at 18:30
Remember to bring your ticket either in print or digitally.

The performance lasts approximately two hours including intermission and starts on time.

You can enjoy a pre-ordered picnic basket in the park, which can be consumed at tables and benches.
Drinks can also be purchased in the park.

The experience can also be completed with an exquisite Ballet Menu in the beautiful rooms of the castle. This must be pre-ordered and does not include a ticket to the performance. Will be on sale later.

It is therefore not allowed to bring your own food and drinks.

Remember to dress warmly in the Danish summer – maybe even a raincoat and a blanket to share on the rows of chairs. For visibility reasons, umbrellas are not allowed.

At the request of the audience, it will now, as in any other theater space, NOT be allowed to take photos during the performance.

There are outdoor toilet facilities in the park.

There is parking just north of Christianssæde Castle for a fee of DKK 50. Disabled parking is located right at the entrance to the parking lot.

Please note that the surface varies between grass and gravel at this location.

For the sake of the shared experience, dogs are not allowed.
