Jens-Christian Wandt celebrates 60th birthday with gala concert for a good cause

When Verdensballetten’s founder and creative director, Jens-Christian Wandt, turns 60 in November, it will be celebrated in the way closest to his heart: with art at the centre – and in support of a good cause.

On Saturday 7 November at 4.00 pm, Jens-Christian Wandt invites you to a grand gala concert at Holmens Church in Copenhagen in support of the Williams Foundation, which helps seriously ill children and their families and supports brain research in Denmark.

The concert brings together a number of prominent artists from the worlds of ballet and music for an afternoon filled with ballet, opera, choral music and instrumental performances.

Among the performers are several familiar faces from Verdensballetten, including Alban Lendorf, Astrid Elbo, Tobias Praetorius, Alexander McKenzie, Niklas Walentin and Denise Beck. In addition, there will be, among others, Susanne Elmark, Charles Workman, Andrea Pellegrini, Tanja Zapolskij, Holmens Vocal Ensemble and a number of other artists.

Jens-Christian Wandt will personally tie the afternoon together and will, of course, also take to the stage as an opera singer.

It will be a musical birthday celebration with hope, warmth and joy at its heart – where some of Denmark’s leading classical artists join forces to let art make a difference.
